Surface Combustion is celebrating our 100th anniversary this year. Surface Combustion was founded in 1915 in the Bronx in New York City after the research and discovery of the concept of surface combustion. Surface's product line has grown and varied from kilns, forge furnaces and metal metling furnaces to baking ovens, heaters and humidity control systems to large thermal processing systems. In 1924 the company moved manufacturing to a larger facility in Toledo, Ohio where all operations were eventually moved. Over the course of a century, Surface has accumulated hundreds of tradmarks and patents, and has been a leader in thermal processing technology. Current Surface brands include Allcase® intergral quench furnaces and RX® endothermic gas generators.
