EU can ensure security of supply for critical raw materials with research and innovation

Raw materials are crucial resources when it comes to prosperity and quality of life in the European Union. However, various raw materials are categorized as critical due to the uncertain supply situation. Through research and innovation, the European Union can improve its supply of critical raw materials.

German energy provider RWE commissions a 14-megawatt pilot electrolyser at Lingen. The plant is to provide insights for developing large-scale green H2 production facilities.

Swedish steel company SSAB and Danieli have signed an Early Service Agreement (ESA) on the pre- and engineering phase for the Luleå mini-mill project in Sweden.

11–14 September 2024: GIFA/METEC Indonesia, Jakarta

GIFA/METEC Indonesia 2024 is the most important international trade fair for foundry and metallurgy technologies and will take place from 11 to 14 September 2024 at Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran. The event has established itself as an excellent platform for industry professionals. With over 200 exhibitors from various countries and a large number of trade visitors, it is a central meeting point in Southeast Asia. A comprehensive accompanying forum ensures an in-depth exchange of knowledge and experience between experts and decision-makers.


27–29 November 2024 METEC India, Mumbai

Experience METEC India 2024, leading international trade fair for the metals industry, taking place from 27-29 November 2024 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. The event brings together the entire metalworking value chain and provides a platform for manufacturers, suppliers and trade visitors from around the world. METEC India takes place in parallel with the wire India and Tube India trade fairs and thus offers a comprehensive network for the metal industry.
