At “Die Casting China 2026”, which takes place in Shanghai from 15 to 17 July, Schmiedewerke Gröditz, Kind & Co. and Buderus Edelstahl will be exhibiting their combined expertise in high-pressure die-casting applications as part of the GMH Group’s Open-Die Forging Group.
Manufacturers are facing increasing demands in terms of tool life, process stability and productivity. According to GMH Group, the three companies offer their customers access to a comprehensive value chain encompassing steel production, remelting, forging, heat treatment, machining and technical application consultancy. This integrated approach provides comprehensive material expertise, optimised manufacturing processes, reliable quality and long-term security of supply from a single source.
For many customers in China, Schmiedewerke Gröditz is already a reliable partner for the industrial supply of standard and ESR-remelted die-casting steels, as well as forged and semi-finished products. Kind & Co. is also recognised among die-casting specialists for its expertise in high-quality and remelted tool steels for demanding tooling applications. Buderus Edelstahl contributes advanced machining capabilities and production-ready solutions that help reduce complexity and increase operational efficiency, GMH says.
#####Special steel for die casting tools
For die-casting applications, the portfolio includes high-quality standard steels with 5 % CrMoV, such as 1.2343 (H11) and 1.2344 (H13), available in both air-melted and ESR-remelted forms, as well as performance-optimised tool steels specifically developed to meet the high demands of modern die-casting applications, including resistance to heat cracking, toughness and wear resistance. Customers also benefit from comprehensive expertise in the heat treatment of large tools and moulds, supported by Kind & Co.’s in-house vacuum heat treatment facilities for large dimensions.
The three companies now operate within the Open-Die Forging Group of the GMH Group and combine complementary expertise in the fields of metallurgy, forging, machining and application engineering to support customers with integrated solutions across the entire value chain.
“China is one of the world’s most important markets for die-casting and modern manufacturing technologies,” says Dr Alexander Becker, CEO of the GMH Group. “By combining the strengths of Schmiedewerke Gröditz, Kind & Co. and Buderus Edelstahl, we can offer our customers a broader portfolio of high-quality tool steel solutions, technical expertise and manufacturing capacities from a single source. Our aim is to help customers extend tool life, increase productivity and benefit from the quality and reliability of German steel production.”
