Generational change takes effect in Familie Weiss Foundation

The Familie Weiss Foundation, sole owner of SMS group, has ushered in a new generation in its top management. Heinrich Weiss, until now the sole director on the foundation’s Board, has handed over the reins to the next generation in the family.

The foundation’s new Board consists of Johannes Frauendörfer as chair, Georg Heinrich Weiss, and Heinz-Erik Decker. Heinrich Weiss has also resigned from his positions on the Shareholders’ Committee and Supervisory Board. Consequently, the foundation’s three Board members have joined the Supervisory Boards, thus ensuring a seamless transition and continuity in the strategic orientation of SMS group. The foundation’s new Board also represents the values that have contributed to the success of SMS group for more than 150 years. Working in close cooperation with the Managing Board, the foundation’s Board will support the strategic development of SMS group.
The generational change in the Managing Board was accomplished one year ago with the appointment of Jochen Burg as CEO and Fabíola Fernandez as CFO.
