Danieli acquires pellet specialist NewFer

NewFer becomes a full Danieli Corus subsidiary, adding iron ore beneficiation and agglomeration expertise. With these additions, Danieli Corus now offers a comprehensive upstream portfolio for integrated steelmaking.

The activities of German company NewFer GmbH will be continued as Danieli NewFer, a full Danieli Corus subsidiary. Danieli NewFer will offer technology, engineering, supplies and services related to pelletizing technology and ore beneficiation packages to the global mining and primary steel sectors. By joining the Danieli Corus group of companies, NewFer’s technological expertise is combined with the Danieli Corus industry network and capability to handle large project scopes.
According to Danieli, this strategic move comes at the right moment, with the global steel industry looking at an increased demand for high quality iron ore concentrates and higher pelletizing capacities to accommodate decarbonization requirements. The Danieli NewFer portfolio focuses on high degrees of operational and thermal efficiency at reduced production cost. The DigiFer family of products adds elevated degrees of automation to beneficiation and pelletizing for further improvements in efficiency and productivity, the compyna said.
