Salzgitter Mannesmann Handel presents PCF calculation tool for the carbon footprint of steel products

A new PCF calculation tool by the companies of the Salzgitter Mannesmann Handel GmbH offers complete transparency regarding their steel products’ carbon footprint. Following successful validation by TÜV SÜD, the CO2 calculation tool is now available with the TÜV SÜD seal of approval.

Customers and business partners are calling for transparency regarding the carbon footprint of individual products, the so-called product carbon footprint (PCF). The new PCF software solution, cooperatively developed by Salzgitter Mannesmann Handel GmbH, calculates the carbon footprint of a steel product from raw material extraction to the customer's factory gate (cradle to gate), as explained by Tanja Jacobs, head of Business Development Salzgitter Mannesmann Handel, in an interview with Messe Düsseldorf. With the PCF, companies that need emissions data for their own carbon footprint receive an exact, certified analysis for their products.
