Dr Martin Theuringer, Managing Director of the Steel Trade Association (Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl) in Berlin, will take over as CEO of the German Foundry Association (BDG) in Düsseldorf at the end of 2025/beginning of 2026. Theuringer follows in the footsteps of Max Schumacher, who is retiring after 32 years of membership in the association.
Clemens Küpper, President of BDG, says: “Dr Martin Theuringer is our ideal candidate for the association – thanks to his excellent contacts in the political sphere in Berlin and his expertise in economic policy, he will be very active in promoting the issues of our energy-intensive industrial SMEs.” According to Küpper, Theuringer has more than 20 years of experience in economic and energy policy and, as Managing Director of Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl, possesses the expertise to successfully lead the foundry industry into the future, even in challenging times.
