By 2050, an estimated 35 % of steel will be produced from scrap, saysthe german company SMS group.
That is a significant increase from today – and according to SMS a positive overall development, because it will reduce carbon emissions and conserve valuable natural resources. For the company, increasing the ability to recycle steel is one of the strategic pillars for making the industry more sustainable.
