The CAEF reports the successful conclusion of its annual Council Meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria. Representatives of leading foundry associations from across Europe attended the meeting, where key decisions were made to reshape the association's future direction.
The decision to reposition the association, which will operate under the name “European Foundry Federation (EFF)” from 2024, is one of the more significant developments.
“This change reflects the Federation's renewed commitment to strengthening its presence and influence in the European foundry industry,” said the CAEF press release.
Change through new structure
The changes should be driven forward by a new governance structure. The President is appointed for a term of 3 years. The newly formed board is made up of the presidents of the leading European foundry associations. The new committee includes: Chiara Danieli (as President of the CAEF), Clemens Küpper (Germany), Ignacio De la Peña (Spain), Fabio Zanardi (Italy), Mehmet Rifat Özalp (Turkey) and Witold Dobosz (Poland).
The association emphasizes the importance of the experience and industry knowledge of Chiara Danieli (France), who was confirmed in her position as President of the EFF. The board members will bring their extensive specialist knowledge and leadership qualities to the association's work.
The aim of the changes is to strengthen the organization's visibility and establish it as the authoritative voice of the European foundry industry. The time is characterized by significant changes and tough competition. There would also be an urgent need to increase industrial capacity. It is therefore urgently necessary for the foundry sector to be more strongly represented in Brussels. The European Foundry Federation (EFF) wants to take on this task and use its renewed structure to master the complexities of a volatile industry landscape.
