International technology group Andritz has received an order from Tangsteel High Strength Automotive Strip to upgrade and modernize the existing No. 5 Continuous Galvanizing Line at its facility in Tangshan, Hebei Province, China. Following the upgrade, the line will be able to cover a wider production range and higher steel grades for automotive applications. Commissioning is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025.
The No. 5 Continuous Galvanizing Line is a key production line for high-strength automotive steel at Tangsteel. Originally commissioned in 2017, it was previously upgraded by Andritz in 2021 to enhance its heating and cooling capacity. The line primarily produced material used for high-end applications in the automotive and home appliance industries.
With this latest modernization, Tangsteel aims to better meet the growing domestic and international demand for cold-rolled strip, while also increasing its production capacity and overall operational efficiency.
Tangsteel´s product portfolio includes cold-rolled thin gauge, coated steel strip, electrical steel, and automotive body and component materials. Its high-quality products are used by renowned automotive brands such as BMW, Fiat, SAIC, Geely, and Great Wall.
