The European Foundry Association (CAEF) announces a change within the CAEF General Secretariat: Johannes Kappes will take on the role of Secretary of the Commission for Economics and Statistics in the future. Kappes succeeds Tillman van de Sand, who will take on a new role within the BDG.
Johannes Kappes studied at the Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg and the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. His professional career includes positions at Deutsche Bank in Luxembourg and at Ernst & Young in Switzerland and Germany. A priority for the new Secretary of the Commission for Economics and Statistics is to improve the visibility of the European foundry industry
"He brings a fresh perspective and determination to advance the association's mission," reads the CAEF press release.
In its press release, the umbrella organization of European foundry associations expressly recognizes the services of Tillman van de Sand as an integral part of the CAEF and wishes him the very best for his new position in the BDG. Kappes will join the CAEF in August 2023.
CAEF
The CAEF is the umbrella organization of the national European foundry associations. It represents 4,400 European foundries with almost 260,000 employees and a turnover of 39 billion euros. Founded in 1953, the organization has 22 European member states and champions the economic, technical, legal and social interests of the European foundry industry. The CAEF also wants to coordinate the common international interests of the foundry industries. The General Secretariat has been in Düsseldorf since 1997.
