LUBROLENE WATER FREE DIE RELEASE AGENTS – THE RANGE

The Lubrolene series of water free die release agents is designed to suit a range of different diecasting conditions – and still deliver impressive savings.

Whether you are casting aluminium alloys at die temperatures up to 430°C or magnesium and structural components at lower die temperatures, there is a Lubrolene WFR die lubricant to suit the conditions.

Given that the die has been designed for minimal spray, or parameters on the existing die have been aligned, switching from a conventional water-based die lubricant to one of the Lubrolene WFR series can lead to significant savings for die casters.

Up to 85% of the running costs of a die-cast machine can be saved which amounts to more than €100,000 a year for a 350 ton machine.

Lubrolene WFR series

Has die lubricants suitable for:

*engine, transmission and structural parts
*high temperature aluminium alloys at die temperatures up to 430°C
*lower temperature magnesium and thin-walled castings at 140°C-180°C
*thin or complex castings
*large and thick-walled castings
*a range of die temperatures

Lubrolene WFR-EC series

Developed by the Aoki Science Institute of Japan, the Lubrolene WFR-EC range is applied by an electrostatic spray gun, making it especially good at covering complex die moulds with hard-to-reach surfaces.

There are five different WFR-EC formulations that cover five different temperature ranges, from the lowest of 110°C-320°C to the highest of 150°C-430°C.

Lubrolene NPL

Especially designed for high temperature die casting, it is effective up to an even higher maximum die temperature of 450°C.

LUBROLENE SERIES OF WATER-FREE DIE RELEASE AGENTS

Diecasters can make truly significant savings by switching to the Lubrolene WFR series of water-free die release agents – up to 85% of the total running costs of die cast machinery (typical 800 ton) when applied by an electrostatic spray.

The impressive savings arise principally because Lubrolene WFR can be applied at far higher temperatures (380°C to 420°C) than conventional water-based lubricants which are only effective between 150°C and 250°C.

As a result Lubrolene WFR produces far less thermal stress on the die mould (compared to conventional die release agents) which in turn significantly extends the die-life, producing substantial savings in overall costs.

In addition only a tiny volume of lubricant is used, reducing costs. Cycle times are shorter, improving efficiency, and the quality of parts produced is better because there is less risk of porosity and water staining.

The Aoki Science Institute of Japan, which developed the oil-based die lubricant, has granted sole European distribution rights to Ultraseal International, the global leader in vacuum impregnation and porosity sealants.

The institute also took the technology to another level with its electrostatic spray application of Lubrolene’s WFR-EC series that was a world first.

Electrostatic spraying is especially suited to the casting of complex parts as it creates a “wraparound effect” with the electric field attracting the spray to the far side and more remote surfaces of the die mould.
