In 1990 the Association of Foundries of the Czech Republic was founded as an association of foundries, pattern shops, trade organizations, research and design institutes and foundry departments of universities. It is an employers and professional organization, and a member of the Association of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.
The Association of Foundries of the Czech Republic protects interests of its organizations in forming industrial policy in the field of casting and pattern production, and takes an active part in their application. It promotes its member organizations and organizes education of workers. For its members it publishes regular topical “news and information” on all problems within its field of interest. For the general professional public it publishes the magazine Slévárenství and Informační zpravodaj with technical-economic information.
Both are published in Czech, moreover magazine Slévárenství also includes title abstracts, tables and figures in English.
The Association of Foundries of the Czech Republic presents a CD of producers of castings from ferrous and nonferrous alloys, i.e. from grey cast iron, spheroidal graphite cast iron, malleable cast iron, cast steel, Al, Cu, and Zn alloys. It is worked out in German, English and Czech, and it is intended for potential customers.
The CD informs about manufacturing program of each foundry, of its capacities and assortment of produced alloys, of production technologies, machines, monitoring methods, and of quality control systems.
