Polish Foundrymens Association was founded over 80 years ago as a voluntary, non-governmental organisation associating over 1000 engineers and technicians working in the foundry industry and foundry institutions, and over 40 supporting members. It operates within teritory through 17 branches. The Association is a member of the World Foundry Organisation (WFO), Central European Foundry Initiative (MEGI) and Polish Federation of Engineering Association (NOT).
The Polish Foundrymens Association is engaged in the organisation of workshops, trainings, conferences, symposia, competitions, technical trips, etc. At present it is engaged in economic and innovative activity. The Association enables co-operation of Polish foundrymen with appropriate foreign organisations concerned with the application of science in the up-to-date technology. Polish Foundrymens Association cooperates with the Polish Ministries: Ministry of Development, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Science and Higher education, Ministry of National Education.
The Association has its own official journal under the title “PRZEGLĄD ODLEWNICTWA” (Foundry Review).
Foundry Review is the oldest scientific-technical journal in Poland concerning foundry practice. It is printed in 500-1000 copies, which are distributed monthly among Polish and foreign foundries and companies using castings in their production, as well as among the majority of engineers and technicians working in foundries.
The Polish Foundrymens Association was the organizer of 73rd World Foundry Congress which was held on 23rd -27th September 2018 in Krakow, Poland.
