Torch cutting

Evertz accepts torch-cutting work (longitudinal and traversial division) using machines specially designed for this purpose. Evertz torch-cutting systems guarantee extremely clean torch cuts and minimal consumption. The rectangularity of the slabs after the torch cutting is guaranteed by modern computer numerical control systems, even with beveled discarded slabs. This also ensures that handling costs are kept to a minimum.

Grinding of slabs

Before semi-finished steel-made material by rolling or forging can be treated with further processing, certain parts and defects might have to be sparked out. Sometimes a subsequent grinding of the complete surface of slabs and billets is necessary, too. Even in other areas of steel treatment, grinding is often preferred over other surface-treatment procedures.

Our specialization includes the job grinding of slabs, blooms, billets, sheet bars, ingots, etc., achieving the correct quality of surface finish for specifications using axial, radial and cup grinding wheels. Depth of roughness ranging from 160µ to 30µ ispossible, as well as hot grinding, 45° grinding angle and special ground-surface patterns.

About us

Company portrait

The strength of the Evertz Group is its ability to develop ideas for cost-saving services and innovative products.

The company was founded in 1956 by Egon Evertz, who was then just nineteen, to serve steel plants between Dortmund and Rheinhausen (Germany) with repair welding.

One of these innovations was the change from hot welding to cold welding for the repair of ingot molds in the steel plants. Egon Evertz was the first to use this technique, but soon mold welding became a standard practice in steel plants worldwide and cut the consumption of molds. After this successful beginning, the Evertz company expanded its services to the steel industry by adding numerous new fields and technologies. Today the Evertz Group holds over 100 patents and similar rights, and its products and services can be found throughout the steel-production chain.

There is no more economical alternative to the Evertz program!
